On July 26th we held a Japan Yo-Yo Tour stop at Keihoku Hall in Kashiwa, Chiba Prefecture.
The venue was close to Kashiwa Station. On that day there was a big festival going on around the Kashiwa Station area and the roads were blocked, so it was difficult to get to the venue.
People came not just from Chiba, but also Saitama, Tokyo, Kanagawa and further to participate in the event.
The 10-Second Sleeper Contest!
Despite (or maybe because of?) the contest’s simple premise, people got pretty fired up about it!
The final match of the Forward Pass Speed Challenge. In the picture, they’re just about to start.
Same as the 10-Second Sleeper, it is a simple and easy to understand contest, so a lot of people joined in.
Team C3yoyodesign, Shinya Kido
Duncan Crew (and new US 4A National Champion!!!), Zac Rubino!
The stage was very small so it should have been difficult to do off string, but Zac pulled it off with no problems.
Team YoYoFactory, Gentry Stein
Gentry, taller than the rest of us, looked like he might hit the low ceiling, but he still put on a very intense performance for the audience.
Other than Shinya, Zac and Gentry, players representing companies that sponsored our Japan Tour also took the stage!
Team YoYoJam, Toshiaki Onuma
He used YoYoJam’s Unleashed to do a great 2A freestyle.
Werrd Alliance Member, Ryosuke Ito
He did his main style 3A, as well as 4A.
Team YoYoFactory, Kento Noda
A local from Chiba Prefecture, Kento is one of YoYoFactory’s younger team members.
Personally, I have been to Kashiwa several times, but coming with the tour was my first visit in a while so I was glad to come again.
Thank you to everyone who came to our tour stop in Kashiwa!
