On July 5th, at 800YOYOCLASS we held our Japan Yo-Yo Tour pre event.
It took place near Kita-Kamakura Station in Kanagawa Prefecture.
We visited the Shonan area’s yo-yo club “800YOYOCLASS” for the event.
The venue was an indoor hall.
The hall is called SPACE800 and it is usually used to host many different kinds of events, not just 800YOYOCLASS.
It’s a fairly spacious hall but many people were in attendance so it got pretty crowded.
It also has an outdoor space and people enjoyed hanging out that liberating atmosphere.
There was a freestyle contest.
The person standing on the stage in the picture is my old friend Ai-kun.
The person holding the microphone in the background is Mr. Kobayashi, a.k.a. MC Kobacchi, who came all the way from Fukuoka.
He is famous in Japan for being the organizer for the “yo-style kyusyu” contest and as a contest MC.
Zac gets ready to do his freestyle.
He used the Duncan Skyhawk and performed his World Yo-Yo Contest routine.
Gentry does his freestyle.
He brought down the house with his performance and won the freestyle contest.
For the tour event we held a 10-Second Sleeper Contest.
I couldn’t take any pictures but many people participated and it seemed like they had a lot of fun.
Thanks to the support of Dee, Yassy, Masa, Hassy, and the 800YOYOCLASS staff and participants, it was a really great event!
