One Drop “Wyvern” is the signature model of Andrew Daugherty, an employee and old team member who has been with the company since around 2012. The yo-yo was inspired by all of his favorite things, and he did the packaging artwork himself. It is a yo-yo that is full of Andrew’s attention to detail and full of one-drop style.
Although this yo-yo has no side effects, it has the One Drop feel in many aspects, from the grooves, to the thin flat rim, to the weight distribution, to the feel. I thought this yo-yo would be similar to the “Sugar Glider” yo-yo in terms of lineage, and it turns out that this yo-yo is said to be inspired by “OG Project,” “Summit,” and “Sugar Glider.”
The float, the feel, and the unique control are all good essences of this yo-yo. It is not a yo-yo with something outstanding or sharp specs. However, the great feeling of sliding on the string, the addictiveness that makes you want to keep on using it, the generally soft feel…something invisible and positive like that, shaped by One Drop’s technology and Andrew’s ideas, exists as Wyvern.
