2017 Japan National will have “International Open Freestyle”

JYYF (Japan Yo-Yo Federation) just announced they will have a new division, “International Open Freestyle” at 2017 Japan National Yo-Yo Contest (JN).

The 2017 Japan National Yo-Yo Contest will be held from June 17th to 18th at Sakura Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo.

This year marks the 19th annual Japan national yo-yo contest. During that time it has evolved from a small contest in a local community center with around 50 in attendance, to its current size of 600-800 in professional convention halls and auditoriums throughout Japan in recent years. JN is arguably one of the most competitive yo-yo contests in the world, which makes it an incredibly exciting event to attend in-person. Among those fighting for this year’s five national titles are many former and current national and world champions. See your heroes up close and personal and cheer them on for the win!

This year, in addition to the 1-5A Championship Divisions, Women’s, Over 40, Team, and Compulsory Trick divisions, we are happy to announce a brand new International Open Freestyle (IOF) division! This division is open only to players who are not Japanese citizens, nor residents of Japan, so if you’re visiting for JN this is your chance to share the stage with top Japanese players and perform in front of one of the best yo-yo audiences in the world.

Whether you’re ready to get in on the action, or just want to cheer on and interact with your favorite players, we warmly invite you to attend the 2017 Japan National Yo-Yo Contest. See you in Tokyo!
