Kazuya Murata (sOMEThING) on GIZMODO JAPAN
sOMEThING team member Kazuya Murata, also known as “Yo-Yo Baby,” was a big hit this week when he appeared on the Japanese version of tech website Gizmodo, as well as Gizmodo sub-blog Sploid in English. The Japanese article title translates as “The World is Going Crazy Over Japan’s Prodigy Boy ‘Yo-Yo Baby’” and talks about his impressive skill at the mere age of 6. The articles are embedded with his freestyle from last year’s Asian Pacific Yo-Yo Championships (a YouTube video that now has over 800,000 views and counting). Congratulations, Kazuya!
You can see the articles here (Japanese) and here (English).
Baishe Kings – ‘Like’
A person playing with a yo-yo makes an appearance in the music video for the song “Like” by artist Baishe Kings. They’re attached to UK music label Ninja Tune’s sub label Big Dada. The yo-yo in the video appears to be a wooden yo-yo, brand unknown. Small warning for some NSFW lyrics.
