FAQ

I have trouble with yo-yos that I throw at an angle.

First, throw the yo-yo straight, even if it is weak. If you do not throw straight, the yo-yo will tilt quickly. Please refer to this page for tips and tricks on how to throw.

The yo-yo does not sleep.

  • Check to see if the string is installed correctly. For details, click here.
  • The bearings may not be in good condition (click here for bearing maintenance).
  • Looping yo-yos are often made to return to their original position, so even the slightest shock will cause them to return to their original position. It is recommended that you practice holding the looping yo-yo in place at the bottom, or if it is difficult, practice with a yo-yo designed for string tricks first.

The yo-yo is not returning to my hand.

  • If the momentum of the throw is weak, it will not come back. Please be conscious to sleep strongly and straight (click here for information on sleepers).
  • There is a possibility that the bearing is not in good condition (Click here for information on bearing maintenance).
  • The yo-yo you are using may be a yo-yo with bind specifications (click here for information on bind yo-yos).

How often should yo-yo strings be replaced?

When used continuously, the recommended replacement time is about 2 hours.
If the string is not used continuously, it is time to replace it when it loses its unevenness and becomes thinner or fluffier.
It is no exaggeration to say that consuming strings is a shortcut to progress.

I bought two of the same yoyo, but the spinning time and feel seems to be different!

There are individual differences in yo-yos. In particular, sleep time often varies depending on the individual bearings. Please keep in mind that all yo-yos have been tested and shipped from each manufacturer, and all yo-yos have been confirmed to meet the standards before they are shipped. For more information, please see the notes on the purchase of competition yo-yos.
*Please contact us in case of obvious initial defects such as not sleeping at all.

It’s a bind yo-yo, but now it’s pulling back.

The bearing may be damaged or contaminated with debris. Try cleaning the bearings with reference to this page.
There are also cases where yo-yos come back even if there is nothing wrong with the bearings. It may come back depending on the gap width (groove width) of the yo-yo and the type of string you are using.

If my yo-yo breaks, can you repair it?

Due to the nature of our products, we do not offer repair services for yo-yos. Most competitive yo-yo manufacturers do not offer repair services, so we basically ask our customers to take care of their yo-yos themselves.

The yo-yo is too hard to disassemble.

If your disassemblable yo-yo does not open from the beginning, you can open it by firmly gripping it with rubber gloves or the like (turn it to the left when viewed from above). If you do not have gloves, try this method using adhesive tape. However, if the shaft does not come off no matter how hard you turn it, the shaft hole is most likely damaged. In this case, it is almost impossible for the manufacturer to repair it.

There is a noisy sound coming from the bearing.

When a yo-yo for binding makes a loud noise or starts to pull back, the bearings need to be cleaned and lubricated with oil. In most cases, cleaning the bearings will remedy the problem. The cleaning procedure is not difficult! Please learn it and get the best performance out of your yo-yo!

Bearings have a life span, so if cleaning does not fix the problem, there is a high possibility that the bearing has broken down.
